Luonto on minulle ehtymätön inspiraation lähde, kaikkina vuodenaikoina. Huomioni kiinnittyy usein pieniin ja muiden silmissä vähäpätöisiin kohteisiin, jotka kertovat minulle tarinoita. Tässä eräänä päivänä tapasin horsmakaunottaret, joita ikävästi myös rentun ruusuiksi sanotaan; siitä ne eivät pidä. Seurasin jo keväästä asti tämän kolmikon kasvua, kuinka iloitsinkaan heidän kanssaan! Lopulta ne kasvoivat pitkiksi ja kauniiksi nuppuineen, kukoistivat pitkään ja leikkivät perhosten ja pörriäisten kanssa. Kypsässä iässä, lähetettyään siemenet tuulen mukana maailmalle, kaikilla oli kauniit kiharapäät: kas, se että on vanha ei tarkoita, että kaikki kauneus ja hauskuus pitäisi loppua!

 

Tämä uniikki teos on akryylivärein toteutettu monoprintti , eli käsin vedostettu yksittäiskappale 32x24 cm taidepaperille, kuva-ala 26,5 x 19 cm. Apureinani toimivat akryylivärit ja kuivuneet horsmanvarret kiharapäineen – paljoa ei hyvään tarinaan tarvita! Teoksessa on käytetty myös hopeanhohtoista helmiäisväriä, joten taustan ilme vaihtelee hieman eri suunnista tai eri valaistuksessa katsottuna. Toimitus kuvan mukaisen valkoisen happovapaan paspiksen (aukkopahvin) kanssa; kuvan näkyvä osuus 18,5 x 24,5 cm, ulkomitta 30x40 cm – eli sopii sellaisenaan valmiskehyksiin: valitset vain mieleisesi 30x40 cm kehyksen ja sujautat tämän paikoilleen. Our nature is a never ending source of inspiration for me – in all seasons. Often I am inspired by very ordinary things others might find boring – however, for me they tell a story. One day I met the three fireweed beauties. I had followed their growing up, developing buds and blooming beautifully for weeks – playing with butterflies and all kinds of bugs. Later, after they already sent their seeds with the wind, they all revealed fancy autumn curls! You know: the fact you are old does not mean you need to stop enjoying beauty and having fun!

 

This unique artwork is an acrylic monoprint, a hand-pulled one-of-a-kind artwork on 32 x 24 cm artist paper, image size 26,5 x 19 cm . I used acrylic paints and some dried fireweed – not much is needed for a good story! For pulling this, I used some silver - pearly pigments, thus  the background looks slightly different from different angles. Delivery includes the natural white, acid-free passepartout as shown. Visible size of the image 18,5 x 24,5 cm cm, outer measurements 30x40 cm – matching the standard sizes of industrial frames on the market. Just find your favourite 30x40 cm frame and slip this into it. Fast and economical! Of course you are free to bring this to a professional framing shop.

Vanhaa intialaista viisautta: ”Ihmisen on hyväksyttävä onni ja onnettomuus sellaisina kuin ne tulevat; tuskat ja ilot ovat kuin pyörivä pyörä.”  Totta onkin, että ei ole valoa ilman pimeyttä, ei päivää ilman yötä, ja sateen jälkeen paistaa taas aurinko. Ja valo voittaa aina, samoin jokainen uusi päivä on lupaus, kasvun mahdollisuus. Nämä vertaukset mielessäni tein tämän teoksen. Vihreä viittaa uuteen alkuun, kasvuun ja toivoon, ja valo on jo voittamassa pimeän.  Symboloikoon lehdet ihmistä, onhan niilläkin suonet ja jokaisella oma elinkaarensa.

Old wisdom from India: ”A man has to accept happiness and misfortune as they come; pain and joy are like a rotating wheel.”  It’s true: there is no light without darkness, no day without the night, and there is sunshine after the rain. Light will always win, and each new morning is a promise, an opportunity to grow.This allegory was on my mind when creating this little artwork.  Green is a symbol for a new beginning, growth and hope, and you can see the light already wins over the darkness. The leaves may symbolize us humans – they too have veins  and their own life cycle.

Täällä pohjoisessa talvi on pitkä ja päivät silloin lyhyitä, sinisen hämärän verhoamia.  Silloin on hyvä sytyttää kynttilöitä ja nauttia mukavista muistoista. Etäisyys ei erota ystäviä, jotka ovat pitkään kulkeneet yhdessä elon polkuja, jakaen ilot ja surut. Juuri tällä hetkellä jossain kaukana joku ystäväsi saattaa ajatella sinua, ja  tunnet ystävyyden lämmön. Et ole yksin.  

 

Käytän töissäni usein luonnosta löytämiäni materiaaleja, sillä ne kiehtovat minua. Tämäkin lehti paljastaa meille elämänsä polveilevat polut, tummat ja valoisat hetket, inspiroiden minua tähän tarinaan.

Here in north the winters are long, with blue twilight even at noon. Then it is time to light some candles and enjoy  nice memories you had with your friends. Distance does not separate those who have a long history of friendship, sharing joys and sorrows with each other. Somewhere, far away, a friend might think of you this very moment, and you feel the warmth of your frienship. You are not alone.

 

I often use in my art materials found in the nature; they fascinate me. This  leaf reveals us the winding paths of it’s life, and the dark and light filled  moments, inspiring me to tell this story.
